U.S. State Chairs

The Board of the I.C.A. is pleased to present the newly revised roster of U.S. State Chairs. These able men and women are long-time members of the I.C.A. and are devoted to promoting the clarinet in their respective areas. Perhaps you have already heard from your new state chair; if not, send them an e-mail and introduce yourself!

The Duties of the State Chair for the International Clarinet Association include, but are not limited to the following:

• Identify individuals or groups for I.C.A. membership in each respective State who are interested or active in teaching, studying, and playing the clarinet.
• Maintain regular communication with members (via e-mail, phone or snail-mail), which helps foster a consistent and high retention rate, and helping with follow-up communications regarding membership non-renewals.
• Gather information about current clarinet performance and educational activities of interest in the area, and disseminating such information to interested persons among the Association's state membership; THE RESPONSIBILITY OF DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION (INCLUDING EVENTS  IN NEIGHBORING STATES) IS THE IS GIVEN SOLELY TO THE STATE CHAIR.   THERE WILL BE NO SHARING OF STATE MEMBERSHIP EMAIL LISTS.
• Provide assistance to individuals or groups within the state membership in matters concerning the clarinet.
• Encourage individuals to participate in the various activities offered by the I.C.A., including competitions, research, and attendance at annual ClarinetFests®.
• Work cooperatively with other state chairs, the Board of Directors, the Executive Director and other leaders of the I.C.A., to promote the interests and activities of the I.C.A.
• Submit an annual progress report to the Secretary by February 1, reporting on the last previous calendar year.
