Air Transportation

The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) is served by American, Unites, Delta and USAirways Airlines and is approximately 10 miles from Louisiana State University and all ClarinetFest® events. If your flight arrangements cannot be booked into Baton Rouge, the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is 71 miles from the conference hotels and serves the following airlines: American, Air Canada, Continental, Delta, Jet Blue, Frontier, Southwest, United, Spirit, and US Airways.

Transportation from Airports

From Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport to LSU Campus area: Tiger Airport Shuttle shared ride service is available, $39.95 one-way for the first person, and $15 for each additional person in the same party going to the same destination (tip not included). Six-passenger minivans and 3-passengers cars are available with a reservation made at least 24 hours in advance by phone, (225) 333-8167, or online at http://www.tigerairportshuttle.com/getaquote.php. A larger van may be available upon request with advance notice. One-way taxi fares range from $25 to $32 depending on traffic, including a 15% tip). From New Orleans’ Louis Armstrong International Airport to LSU Campus area: Tiger Airport Shuttle shared ride service for transportation between the New Orleans Airport and Baton Rouge. Cost is approximately $84.95 one-way for the first person, and $30 for each additional person in the same party going to the same destination. If you’re thinking of renting a car with pick-up at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR), the average daily rate is $22-$27, and average weekly rate from $200-$250 U.S.

Driving Directions

From Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport to Hotels

The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU is located on the eastern edge of campus adjacent to University Lake. Exit Interstate I110 at Dalrymple Drive. Follow Dalrymple Drive for approximately 1 mile until you reach the International Cultural Center. Turn immediately left onto West Lakeshore Drive for approximately 1/4 mile until you reach the Lod Cook Alumni Center on the right. Turn right by the Alumni Center. The Cook Hotel is located immediately behind. Complimentary parking is available on both sides of the property.
For the Staybridge Suites Hotel University at Southgate, follow the signs to Baton Rouge (I-110 S) exit 1A "Government St" exit and take a right onto Government. Travel approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left onto St Phillip Street and it turns into Nicholson Dr. Drive approximately 3.5 miles. Hotel will be on the left.

From the New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport( MSY)

To the Cook Hotel and Conference Center, merge onto I-310 N via the ramp to Baton Rouge. Take exit 1 on the left for I-10 W toward Baton Rouge. Merge onto I-10. Go approximately 63 miles, then exit 156B for Dalrymple Dr toward LSU. Turn right onto Dalrymple Dr. Turn left onto W. Lakeshore Dr., destination will be on the right.

For the Staybridge Suites Hotel University at Southgate, distance approximately 70 miles, merge onto I-10 west toward Baton Rouge. Take College Drive exit and take a left at the light, going under the interstate. Drive approximately 3 miles and turn right on Nicholson Drive. Drive approximately 1.4 miles and the hotel will be on the right.

ClarinetFest® Parking

If you are staying at one of the conference hotels, parking is complimentary with your stay. For guests staying at the Cook Hotel and Staybridge Hotel, complimentary Tiger Trails Bus service will be available to the University during your stay.
