
Dr. John Cipolla is Associate Professor of Music (clarinet and saxophone) at Western Kentucky University (WKU) in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He has been a New York City woodwind player for over twenty years–being a tenured member of the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra since 1985 and the orchestra for the Broadway show, CATS (1991-2000). John has also performed and/or recorded with an eclectic array of ensembles and artists ranging from the New York City Opera to performance artist, Meredith Monk to Aretha Franklin. He has been recognized as the 2007 Kentucky Music Educators "College/University Teacher of the Year." He was awarded the 2009 WKU Potter College Faculty Award for Public Service. He is a Selmer Clarinet Performing Artist. Cipolla holds the DMA degree (University of North Carolina at Greensboro), the MM degree (Rutgers University) and the BM degree (The Eastman School of Music).
